"Let the waters swarm with swarms of living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth" (Gen. 1:20)
ll 17/1.16 Mysteries of Genesis (page 22) states that the living creatures symbolize the thoughts that swarm in the mind. They are alive and create after their own kind. Birds represent ideas approaching spiritual understanding. They are above earthly thought and carry the mind upward toward the higher realm of Spirit.
